Theres an interview with Gary in this weeks heat!! ;
Gary barlow's telling me all about his fitness regime.
"I do loads. I do more than anyone else in the band. Basically, I go for a long run four times a week, then do a good training session three times a week....."
It's all very impressive. And what's even more impressive is that this regime has seen Gary go down to his current weight from a sizable 16st 8lbs. Not bad, huh? there'll be no more Fat Gary Jokes now. He's a changed man. He looks great, he's in shape and.....
"What have you go there?"
"There's a jar full of mini chocolate bars over there," I explain, "I just got myself a mini Snickers and a Mars Bar."
"Right. Are there any left?"
"Yes. there are some Mars and a Twix."
"Ok, would you get me a Mars...."
"Sure, Gary."
"..... and a Twix."
Everything changes. But Gary Barlow. It's September 2006 and this is Gary Barlow's first major interview in more than five years. There's a lot to talk about: the crazy days of Take That - and the band's mega sucsessful reunion; Gary's despair as his much hyped carrer flopped; His weight gain; his weight loss.
But mainly we end up talking about Robbie Williams, the man who, since leaving Take That, appears to have taken it upon himself to ridicule, taunt and - let's be honest - bully his ex-bandmate in a series of interview and on stage proclamations. We are, after all, talking about the man who declaired from the stage at the brits that "I was the tallented one in Take That", said he was going to take Gary's solo album back to the shop, and sang an agressive version of Back For Good at his live shows.
So how does Gary feel about being slagged off for months on end - then seeing others join in the baiting? and how does he feel now that it seems Robbie's solo carrer may be faltering just as Gary's solo carrer did five years ago?
Gary's excellent new autobiography My Take adresses lots of these issues. But we want to know about some of the stuff thats not in the book.....
